Uncle Dusty is Home!

Yay!  2 years are up and Dusty is back!  He's served well in the New Hampshire mission and is now back at school at BYU-Idaho.
He came home to Chico for the weekend with his girlfriend Chelsie and they stayed at our house one night, went to see Dad's work in Orland the next day, went hot tubbing in the backyard, disc golfing many times, hiking, biking, and played lots of fun games.
Noah gave Kendra a good ride on the swing.
Lots of family was able to come to hear Dusty speak in church.
Noah and Mikayla sang, "Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant" at the microphone accompanied by Jacob on the piano.  It was soo beautiful and their sweet little voices were a perfect addition to the church meeting.

They said this one was for their "album cover."  Hahaha!
27 weeks and feeling sassy in cheetah print and red heels.

Uncle Scott has been trying to teach his new wife Portia how to ride a bike, but it's not going so well.  So when he saw Megan's trail-a-bike in the garage he thought it would be a perfect way to take his wife for a long ride!  Too funny!

It was so fun to have 2 of my brothers home for the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together laughing and joking and enjoying being together.
Brothers and Cousins: reunited
Kendra was in need of a hug, so Uncle Josh picked her up, she snuggled into his shoulder, and after a minute on the recliner they were both out!  Too cute.
Kendra (and the other girls!) thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Chelsie and snuggled right up to her on the couch and sang songs and danced with her and Kendra's been telling me all week about her "friend Chelsie."

We had such a fun weekend and I'm so glad that we're able to call, text, and skype Dusty now.  2 years can seem like a long time when those aren't available forms of communication!  He served an honorable mission to his fullest and I know he has grown a lot and become a better man because of it.

It's Called A Kiss

Mikayla went in upon my request to wake up her younger sister and did so very kindly and with a kiss on the cheek.  Next thing I hear...

Megan:  (yelling) Ooh, Mikayla!!  Don't put your lips on my face while I'm sleeping!
Mikayla:  Uh Megan, it's called a kiss.  You should say thank you.

A Little More of the Bump

Before a friend's Christmas party.  22 weeks along

 24 weeks

 25 weeks before church
26 weeks after church

All's been well so far...  some bouts of moning sickness, some awful headaches, new bouts of nausea if I don't eat every 2-3 hrs, some nasty groin pain for days that makes it hard to walk after teaching Body Pump, some other unmentionable side effects of pregnancy, new stretch marks.... yep, everything's pretty much awesome.

How much longer now???

It's A Hard Knock Life

I heard Kendra in her bedroom and wondered what she was up to.  I peeked in and she was putting clothing away that was on her floor.  As she put jammies and shirts into drawers I could hear her saying to herself in an unnaturally high voice,

"Chenja(how she says her name!), clean up your room!  Dis is messy, I don't like messes.  We like clean rooms.  Don't leave yo clothes on yo floor, they go in your drawers..."

I was cracking up at her productive imaginative play!

Snow Much Fun!

We are so fortunate to live in a warm climate where we don't deal with the cold and snow everyday, but we can drive an hour or two and have tons of fun for the day!  We went up to Mt. Shasta with Magaw and Papa after Christmas and enjoyed ourselves sledding, building snowmen, snowmobiling, playing games, hot tubbing at the hotel and swimming.  Such a fun vacation!
This is what happens after a few hours up and down the snowhill!  It was her first time to visit the snow and though I think she ate her body weight in snow, she loved every minute of sledding.

The next day we went snowmobiling and though I was nervous at first, I ened up loving it and got more comfortable with each ride.  Started out not wanting to go over 20 mph and ended up clocking 53 mps at the end of the day--made some strides there!
