Lessons Learned

"C'mon girls, I want a nice picture.  Please just stand out here Kendra.  C'mon, we want to be on time for church.  Girls, girls...smile... please.  Okay, over here.  No... finger out of your nose.  No, put your skirt down, we don't want a picture of your underwear..."
Can you see I'm starting to get slightly exasperated!
Close enough!
Ah, 3 1/2 girls looking and smiling at the camera!  Don't mind the fact that Kara's long legs are dangling in front of Kendra's face.  It's the best we got!

This Mother's Day was pretty special for me.  It was my first Mother's Day with my 4 girls and my complete family.  I am starting to see glimpses into the future of the fun we will have as girls and try not to think too much of the bickering and PMSing all going on in one house at one time.  poor, poor Trent...

Things I Have Learned As A Mom:

You will get poop on your hands at some point.  Promise.

Your kid may insist on wearing her diaper cover on her head as a hat and no amount of convincing will change her mind.  She will wear it and people will laugh and commiserate with you.

You will have stretch marks and a not-so-awesome belly after 4 pregnancies and no amount of lotions, creams, or wishing on stars will take those away.

Putting on a clean shirt is somehow a magnet for spitup, snot, boogers, food or a lovely combination of all.

A brand new sponge in the sink will bring joy to your day.

You think you will never raise your voice to get your kids to obey.  You will be wrong.

Your kid will pull down her pants in public and poop on the sidewalk to seemingly try to humiliate you.  And it will work.

The freezer will get left open all night long and you will wake up to a mix of ice cream, chicken, salmon, and popsicle juice all over to clean up.  Awesome.

You probably will get a shower 3x a week.  Probably.

You will have to ask the checker at the store to kindly refund the beer from your grocery total as your child threw that in the cart thinking it was soda.

Most every night your children will act surprised when you say it's bedtime and they will act as if you have just spoken commands to them in Russian.

You will have such a bad tantrum from your child over wearing a dress to church that you will take her to church in a towel and your aunt will come up and ask if she can dress your child and your child will willingly let her put the dress on.

Peeing in the bathroom without an interruption will feel like an hour at the spa.

You will feel almost giddy over getting to go grocery shopping...by yourself!

A simple kiss from your child can melt away all the troubles of your day.

Dido, been there, well not all of them I've never had a kid poop on the sidewalk, but we still have more little ones coming up so I won't say it will never happen.
