Mikayla Stew

So this is a fun tag! I saw it on my friend Christine's blog and thought I'd try it.
Pick the 4th picture in the 4th folder of pics on your computer and post the pic and tell what it is. This is Mikayla Stew taken at 11 months old. Just a funny lil posed pic my mom and I did, not the best of the bunch but it was the 4th pic! What's yours?
(I tag anyone who reads this and let me know when you've done it! Let's see those random pics!)

Richmond, VA?

Okay, how weird is that? Everytime I log in/sign in/whatever on blogger it is recognizing me as being from Richmond, VA. What's up with that? Did Comcast choose to route us through their VA server? Is that not the craziest thing? Anyone know how to fix that? Weird...

Carving Punkins!

The finished products! And some cute kids too!
Erik and Mikayla decorating cupcakes!
Big hugs!
The kids really weren't that into scoopin' the goop! They weren't fond of the sliminess.
Case in point...
Lance and his mad carving skills

Trent preferred to draw his face on before carving it. It was a fun FHE activity. We had a lesson and song and then carved pumpkins for the activity and decorated cupcakes for dessert. We thought the kids would be more into it than they were! They didn't like being messy and so the adults did the scooping and the carving. The kids LOVED being cupcake decorators though!

I Hope I'm Not Disappointed...

(The Cullen Family) by the Twilight movie! Don't get me wrong, I am DYING to see it! I LOVED the books WAY MORE than I thought I would. In fact, I put off reading them for about a year and a half because I was sure they were "not my thing." I've never been into fantasy or vampires or anything closely related. To say the least, I and my husband, are quite shocked to discover that the series has become an intense, must-read that has not been easily put down. I read all four books in the past couple of months and what with the kids, the jobs, the new house, etc. etc. I consider that quite an accomplishment. So I read the books, fell in LOVE with Edward and have him up on such a high pedestal in my mind that I sorely hope to not be disappointed by the casting of him and other characters in the movie. If it turns out to be as good as I am hoping then I hope the producers are on their way to making the next movie soon! (November 21st baby! Opening night! Woot woot!)

The Pumpkin Patch

My cute 17 month old
The cute 4 year old

Meggy and Daddy

I just love the lil pigtails!

Sittin' on a haybale

We went with Mikayla on her fieldtrip to the Pumpkin Patch with her preschool. The girls had fun looking at and picking up the pumpkins and taking a hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

Trunk-R-Treat!

My cute pirate and ladybug!

Sophie as Minnie Mouse, Mikayla the Pirate, Bella the Kitty Cat, and Megan the Ladybug

How cool is her parrot? She named him Pinky and loved walking around petting her parrot!

Mikayla and Erik made pretty awesome pirates!

The pirate wanted her picture taken with Captain Hook of course!

We had so much fun at Trunk-r-treat this year! The girls loved dressing up and getting loads of candy and seeing all their friends dressed up too. What a fun night!

Okay, I've got a confession to make...

I saw HSM 3 and loved it! And is it so bad to say that I totally think Zac Efron is cute?? Where was he when I was 12 years old?! I would have gone ga-ga over this movie at that age like every other tween girl. Last week we got free tickets to the premiere night which was 2 days before the actual release and I took my achievement day girls to see the flick. They, of course, were stoked and absolutely loved it! I'm sure they loved being able to tell their friends the next day at school that they saw it before it was even out in theaters too. I would've loved that if I was 10 years old! Anyway, we had fun, I embarrassed them by singing and cheering through the whole movie and clapping after the fun dance numbers--can you blame me? I think I scored mega coolness points in their eyes for taking them though! haha!

Our Rad 80s Night!

It was, like, totally awesome! We had such a fun date night! Josh, Chloe, Trent, and I got some outfits together and went out with a group of friends to Chevy's for dinner. Then we headed over to the church for a stake adult 80's dance. It was so much fun! We had a great time and made some new friends and I hate to admit it, but the leggings and the side ponytail really grew on me....

Dusty's an Eagle

Scout! We went to Chico a few weeks ago for his Eagle Court of Honor ceremony and it was really neat to be there and to see him receive his award. We're so proud of you Dusty!

It's About Freakin' Time!!

FINALLY!!!!! We got the Internet set up at the new place and I can stay connected with the world again! I have not particularly enjoyed going to the library once or twice a week to check e-mail when I am so used to being on the comp everyday. I feel so out of it! Okay people, catch me up on what I've missed!! :)

We Got The Keys!

The date had been pushed back several times, but yes, we have keys! We've been ripping up carpet, removing shelf liner, taking out a thousand nails and screws from the walls, changing locks, and getting ready to paint. Since this is our first time to do all this, it is ACTUALLY fun! We are enjoying transforming the place and making it clean and ours. We should be moving sometime in the next 2 weeks or so. We'll see how much we can get done in between the kids, Trent's school and work, my jobs, and all else that is going on. But, we're excited!

Halloween Package

Thank you Magaw for this cute Halloween package! Mikayla was so excited to come home from preschool and find a box in front of the door with HER name on it! Inside was a card, 2 Halloween books, a cupcake and frosting mix, and matching clothes. Mikayla saw one shirt in the box and said, "Oh! I think there's another matching one in here!... Oh! There is! Yay!" She loves matching clothes and Magaw knows that.
After looking everything over she said, "I think Magaw sent this to me because she loves me so much and she misses me a lot." I think you're exactly right Mikayla.

Where's Your Nose?

Yay Megan! She finally understands the little game and is having fun learning body parts. Her favorite is "Where is Meggy's belly button?" As soon as I say it she knows I'm going to lift up her shirt and tickle her, so now she smiles and giggles and presses her shirt into her tummy before I can lift it up! She's so stinkin' cute!
She has decided it's easier to get around with this little car if she just pushes it. BTW, do you see the little pigtails?! Finally, I can pull the hair into two little tufts at the back of her head and make something resembling pigtails out of it.

Stake Achievement Day Dance

We had such a fun dance last weekend for all the 8-11 yr. old girls in the stake. It was a daddy/daughter dance and dinner and the girls had so much fun getting dressed up and having one-on-one time with their dads. We made boutonnieres and corsages with the girls last week for our activity and they all looked so cute wearing their matching flowers.

Nicole asked Trent to go with her and he had so much fun! He made sure to pick her up in style!
Uncle Joe and Eliza arrived in similar fashion!
Trent and Nicole learning to waltz. They actually were quite good!
They did the basic waltz so well, they decided to show off and have Nicole spin Trent! The obvious height differences among all the girls and guys gave us some laughs and cute pictures. What a fun activity! :)

My Favorite Season is Here Again!

I love Fall! How can you not? The beautiful foliage turning vibrant, warm colors, crisp mornings, Halloween, no more 100 degree days, pumpkin apple muffins...I love it all! It is my favorite season and I can't wait to go to a pumpkin patch!
