I took Josh and Chloe to the temple to take some wedding pics and I am in love with them! The pics and the couple! lol We had a lot of fun and got some really great pictures too. The day they got married it was so incredibly stormy, windy, rainy, cold that they really didn't have great pictures. So, a few months later, we tried again!Saturday, November 8, 2008

WE DID IT!!!!!

Prop. 8 passed! We did it! It took a lot of time, effort, and money on everyone's part to show our support for the definition of marriage. We have again defined marriage in the state of California as being between a man and a woman. I am proud of so many in my state right now for having the courage to stand up for something we strongly believe in and to go out of comfort zones at times to protect the sacred institution of marriage.
From the campaign manager of protectmarriage.com, "I couldn’t be prouder of the campaign we have waged. Together, we’ve raised important issues about same-sex marriage including implications for religious freedom, freedom of expression and, most importantly, how same-sex marriage will be taught to children in our schools. Our opponents have vilified us for having had the courage to speak out. Our campaign materials have been stolen and destroyed, churches have been defaced, properties damaged and some of our volunteers have even been assaulted. Still, you have persevered and brought us to the brink of victory...."
I made phone calls and was hung up on. I put signs in my yard and they were stolen. I waved signs on street corners and had obscenities yelled at me. Quite a lot of persecution. How many more signs do we need people? We are in the last days! Did you do all you could....?

Happy Halloween!
We had a fun-filled, busy Halloween day and were thankful the rain stayed (mostly) away until bedtime!
Is this not the cutest thing ever?!
The little pirates, Mikayla and Erik!
Brock and Megan weren't quite sure what was going on.
Mikayla at her preschool party practicing her pirate look and saying, "Aarrrggh!"
Making a craft at preschool with Pinky the Parrot.
Megan loves going to Mikayla's preschool and when I turned around to take a pic of Mikayla, I turned back around to find Megan at the drawing center happily scribbling away.
After the preschool party, Trick-r-treating in Fair Oaks Village, going to work, and waving signs for Prop 8, we dressed up again and went to the Tew's Halloween party with lots of our friends. The girls loved the carnival games, but were scared out of their minds in the haunted house! Mikayla said, "Okay, that was scary! I was just terrified in there!" What a crack up!

Mikayla Stew
Pick the 4th picture in the 4th folder of pics on your computer and post the pic and tell what it is. This is Mikayla Stew taken at 11 months old. Just a funny lil posed pic my mom and I did, not the best of the bunch but it was the 4th pic! What's yours?
(I tag anyone who reads this and let me know when you've done it! Let's see those random pics!)
Richmond, VA?
Okay, how weird is that? Everytime I log in/sign in/whatever on blogger it is recognizing me as being from Richmond, VA. What's up with that? Did Comcast choose to route us through their VA server? Is that not the craziest thing? Anyone know how to fix that? Weird...

Carving Punkins!
Trent preferred to draw his face on before carving it. It was a fun FHE activity. We had a lesson and song and then carved pumpkins for the activity and decorated cupcakes for dessert. We thought the kids would be more into it than they were! They didn't like being messy and so the adults did the scooping and the carving. The kids LOVED being cupcake decorators though!
I Hope I'm Not Disappointed...
(The Cullen Family)
by the Twilight movie! Don't get me wrong, I am DYING to see it! I LOVED the books WAY MORE than I thought I would. In fact, I put off reading them for about a year and a half because I was sure they were "not my thing." I've never been into fantasy or vampires or anything closely related. To say the least, I and my husband, are quite shocked to discover that the series has become an intense, must-read that has not been easily put down. I read all four books in the past couple of months and what with the kids, the jobs, the new house, etc. etc. I consider that quite an accomplishment. So I read the books, fell in LOVE with Edward and have him up on such a high pedestal in my mind that I sorely hope to not be disappointed by the casting of him and other characters in the movie. If it turns out to be as good as I am hoping then I hope the producers are on their way to making the next movie soon! (November 21st baby! Opening night! Woot woot!)

Okay, I've got a confession to make...
I saw HSM 3 and loved it! And is it so bad to say that I totally think Zac Efron is cute?? Where was he when I was 12 years old?! I would have gone ga-ga over this movie at that age like every other tween girl. Last week we got free tickets to the premiere night which was 2 days before the actual release and I took my achievement day girls to see the flick. They, of course, were stoked and absolutely loved it! I'm sure they loved being able to tell their friends the next day at school that they saw it before it was even out in theaters too. I would've loved that if I was 10 years old! Anyway, we had fun, I embarrassed them by singing and cheering through the whole movie and clapping after the fun dance numbers--can you blame me? I think I scored mega coolness points in their eyes for taking them though! haha!

Dusty's an Eagle
It's About Freakin' Time!!
FINALLY!!!!! We got the Internet set up at the new place and I can stay connected with the world again! I have not particularly enjoyed going to the library once or twice a week to check e-mail when I am so used to being on the comp everyday. I feel so out of it! Okay people, catch me up on what I've missed!! :)
