My baby lost her first tooth! It's been a little wiggly for a month and then today at a church bbq, she bit into her hot dog and out it came! As did the tears. She didn't know there'd be blood. So we came home and I let her hold it to take a picture and...she dropped it. On the driveway. I searched through the gravel, weeds, leaves, and grass for over a half hour. Mikayla patted my back and said, "It's okay Mom, I have more." So we headed inside and gave up the search. As we pulled out of the driveway that night to go swimming as a family I hopped out of the car and checked the driveway to see if it may have fallen under the parked car earlier. Sure enough, victory was mine! And now we don't have to try to trick the tooth fairy with a rock or rice or anything.
And yes, the irony is not lost on me. I do think it funny that one of my girls is trying hard to lose teeth, while another is trying hard to get anything to pop through her swollen gums! It's all just a matter of time....
